I am a 31 year old career mom turned SAHM. I've got one brimming heart, two girls, two full arms and too darn much laundry. I cope with domestication by doing down dogs and blogging. I love green tea, the unconventional, tall mandolin playing husbands and the two girls who turned my world to color: Emery (11/07) and Eve (7/09).
My main man. Water for my soul. Husband and daily comic relief for 6 years. I see him in the faces of our girls every day. Tall and handsome, can fix just about anything, plays jazz saxaphone and bluegrass mandolin, works full time, teaches at a nearby university, is finishing his Ph.D and still manages to change his share of diapers and read endless consecutive narrations of Green Eggs and Ham. Obie wan Kenobi of fathers. The Force is strong with this one.
Full of Grace: Emery
The reason I began writing. The melody to my song. She’s a 30 something inch tall blondie, queen of spunk and personality. She loves band-aids and banjos, can eat her weight in cheese, sleeps with stuffed chinese pugs, thinks vacuums and lawn blowers are the devil, laughs from her belly and does an impressive down dog. My world turned to color when she was born. How I love her so. She is my Grace.
Full of Peace: Eve
Chubby cheeked babe of happiness. The breath for my laughter. Followed her sister’s arrival by 20 months. Born in a blow up pool in the bay window of our master bedroom. On purpose. When I was pregnant with her, I couldn’t quite imagine how I would love her as much as I love her sister, but the moment she landed on my chest, long and gorgeous, I understood how there can be no limit to love. She is the yin to Emery’s yang. I had no idea that having a second child would be such a different ride. How I love this new life. She is my Peace.
Beth, Thank you for your compliments on both the kids and the photos. To answer your question, I usually don't edit my photos at all outside of occassional cropping, but I've been wanting some editing software for a while. Just yesterday, I downloaded Adobe's lightroom for a 30 day free trial as I want to use it to edit a holiday card photo. I really can't afford that kind of expense for photo editing software, so when my 30 day trial runs out, I'll be without again. However, since hubby is a student, he is eligible for Adobe's discount and can get it for $99. Maybe, just maybe I can get it for that price. These two photos were the first and only I edited with Lightroom. Seems fairly easy. I'm almost positive I'll be addicted before 30 days are up. :)
